Buds Bar n Grill

Just had the best steak I’ve had in Thailand at this great little restaurant. Cooked to perfection, we also enjoyed the steak frites which is done with NY Striploin and an amazing steak sauce. The server was sweet and very polite. Oh and we initially came in just for a gelato, then the owner who was testing steak from a new supplier had us try some and give him some feedback…then we stayed and enjoyed a great steak dinner. Great way to end our 2026 Koh Tao visit as we leave tomorrow.

Chanced upon this steakhouse while looking for a dinner place and did not expect to get treated with the most delectable steak in the whole of Koh Tao!!! Their specialty is I think their various cuts of fatty and perfectly marbled Wagyu steaks (see the refrigerator with all the cuts available last night). We got the picanha steak which was soooo unctuous and just melted in our mouths!! And when paired with their Cafe de Paris sauce (a sauce supposedly made with 30 herbs?!!!) was *chefs kiss*. The bone marrow was to die for as well!!! I love how they char the top for you on the spot which really brings out the aroma of the rosemary garnish hehe. Popcorn shrimp was delish too! This place is run by the sweetest friendliest chaps and their warm service really just brought the dining experience to the next level. 10/10 would recommend to all carnivores visiting this area!!

The steak was awesome and the sides were tasty. Would recommend to anyone looking to eat a nicely done steak in koh tao.

Great food and super friendly staff. The creamed corn was incredible! We tried the crème brûlée and key lime pie and they were both delicious. We will definitely be back next time we are in Koh Tao.

10/10 food and service 🥩 If preferred, you can choose your own steak out of the cooler which I found was a nice touch. Would definitely visit again!

Had diner tonight at Buds and it was amazing. To start off, the owner, Bank, is such a gentleman and very service oriented. He explained the cuts of meat they offered that night and i choose the Hanger steak. I could not have made a better choice! The steak was perfectly cooked and came with the most crispy onion rings and delicious mash potatoes. And to finish it off they offered me a Key lime pie and boy did that hit, the perfect combination of sweet, sour and freshness. The staff is extremely friendly and i enjoyed the interactions. Only positive vibes! Highly recommend visiting Buds when you are at Koh Tao.

Is perfectly for dinner and staff she very good recommended cause I don’t eat beef and also can’t eat shrimp. And she recommended for German sausage that’s is so yummy. Ice cream is so nice and I recommend for dessert after main course 😊😊 My rating is 10/10

Best restaurant on the island! Great ambience too at night and evening

Max is one of the nicest people, it shows that he cares very much for each costumer and each dish is getting out of the kitchen, the beef steaks were cooked to perfection , and the 3 times cooked fries, oh the fries, it was a pleasure and a great pleasant time to spend, on top of all of that, when we were done ( not a crumb left on the plat) we were thinking about desert, Max noticed us and offer a homed key-lime-pie who was amazing!!! Thank you Max and everyone!! Well recommended🤘🏽😎

I had a very pleasent time here, very chill and cool owner the staff was very nice as well. The Food was great the Steak was cooked perfect and the triple cooked chips are great as well totally recommand. If your on Koh Tao and have the time definitly worth the visit 🤙🏼

מסעדה מדהימה, בשר ברמה גבוהה בטירוף מהטעימים שאכלתי. הבעלים של המקום האיש הכי נחמד בעולם ממש מפנק ועושה הכל כדי שתצא בהרגשה הכי טובה שיש. ממליץ בחום

סטייק מהטובים שאכלנו, ממליצים מאוד למי שרוצה בשר!! המארח סופר נחמד (Matt) והכין לנו במיוחד מנה לא מהתפריט. מסעדה יחסית חדשה ועל הצד הטיפה יקר אבל שווה כל באט. Thanks Matt! Had great time 😬

הגענו זוג למסעדה הזו לאחר שעברנו כמה פעמים לידה וכל פעם השלט שלה תפס אותי. ראיתי את הביקורות והתמונות הנהדרות והייתי חייב לנסות. הגענו בערב, המסעדה הייתה ריקה (אולי כי הם עוד בהתחלה שלהם), קיבלו את פנינו שני המנהלים מת׳ מאנגליה והשני מקומי ששכחתי את שמו. גיליתי שבדיוק הם קיבלו כמה נתחים של וואגיו מסוג A5 (שנדיר מאוד למצוא בתאילנד בכלל ובקו טאו בפרט) והייתי חייב להזמין לי את הנתח הזה. בדרך קצת דיברנו עם מת׳ ועל הסיפור שלו ואיך הגיע לכאן וממש קינאנו בזה שהוא עבר לגור פה. לאחר מספר דקות הסטייק הגיע והיה יוצא מן הכלל, המידת עשייה הייתה מדויקת, התיבול והרכות של הסטייק היו מעולים. אין מה להרחיב על הצ׳יפס והפירה כי הם היו מעולים גם כן. בנוסף הזמנו גם נקניקיה שהייתה מיוחדת מאוד עם לחמניה רכה ותוספות ששילבו טעם שנעים מאוד לחיך. אמנם המחירים יקרים לאיזור אבל למי שמבין בבשר המחירים פה הם מאוד מאוד נמוכים לרמת אוכל שמגישים פה. כל מי שרוצה למצוא מסעדת בשר ברמה גבוהה ללא התפשרות זה המקום. תודה לך מת׳ על זה שלקחת סיכון ופתחת את המסעדה הזו, אתה מעורר השראה.

This place is amazing! Best food I’ve had on the island. These guys know their meat, and you can see they are invested in making the experience great. If you’re a carnivore I guarantee you’ll enjoy this place
