Important Notice Regarding Online PT.33 Prescription Providers

Under the regulatory authority of the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine (DTAM) within the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), the PT.33 prescription is the legally relevant medical document for medicinal cannabis in Thailand.

Variation in prescription quality and compliance

Patients should understand that not all PT.33 documents circulating online are necessarily issued through compliant medical workflows.

Why caution is necessary

Because Thailand does not currently operate a centralized, publicly searchable PT.33 verification system, prescription reliability depends heavily on the licensed issuing medical professional and provider process quality.

  • There is no single government portal where patients can independently confirm every PT.33 in real time.
  • Enforcement responsibility rests primarily on the issuing licensed medical professional.
  • Dispensaries and authorities may evaluate prescriptions individually.
  • Some online providers may advertise instant or automated approvals that may not meet proper medical consultation standards.

What patients should look for in any provider

When choosing an online prescription provider, patients should verify that core medical and compliance safeguards are present.

  • A real consultation occurs with a licensed Thai medical professional.
  • The doctor's full name and license number appear on the PT.33.
  • License credentials can be independently verified with the appropriate Thai authority.
  • A physical original PT.33 is issued where required for dispensary use.
  • The provider does not guarantee approval before medical review, and approvals are not instant or automated.
  • Patients should be cautious of card-only offers, guaranteed approvals, undisclosed doctor credentials, or missing physical PT.33 issuance where required.

How WEED.TH addresses current system risks

  • WEED.TH is designed to reduce known market risks through a documented medical workflow:
  • Step 1: A licensed Thai doctor evaluates you.
  • Step 2: A valid PT.33 is issued.
  • Step 3: The issuance complies with Thai medical regulation.
  • A real consultation must occur. Automated or superficial approvals create regulatory risk and are not the workflow used by WEED.TH.
  • During the application process, patients are required to submit general patient information, complete a required medical questionnaire, and provide video responses. A licensed medical professional reviews all of this information before making an approval decision.
  • Payment never guarantees approval.
  • Licensed medical professionals are compensated for consultation services regardless of whether a prescription is approved or rejected.
  • Licensed medical professionals are not incentivized to approve.
  • Rejection decisions are not financially discouraged.
  • If a patient is not approved, appointment and prescription-processing fees are fully refunded. This refund policy is patient protection only and does not influence medical outcomes.
  • Within the WEED.TH system, you cannot obtain only one of these outputs through the card flow. Card issuance is tied to PT.33 issuance and matching validity dates.
  • The PT.33 prescription, not a membership card or marketing material, remains the primary document relevant for lawful medicinal cannabis purchasing in Thailand.

How to use your documents at dispensaries

The program is designed for both participating and non-participating shops:

  • At shops not directly participating in the card discount program, present the original physical PT.33 document issued through CARD.WEED.TH.
  • The physical PT.33 original is single-use.
  • At one of 650 participating dispensaries in the WEED.TH cannabis card program, present your cannabis card to receive available discounts.

PT.33 fulfillment and delivery

If you are approved for a PT.33 through our system, the prescription package is always produced with a physical original and a matching digital copy.

  • If you used a participating partner shop to obtain your prescription through our system, the original hard copy PT.33 (with medical professional signature and stamp) is mailed directly to that shop.
  • If you applied directly through CARD.WEED.TH without selecting a shop, the original hard copy PT.33 is mailed directly to you.
  • In all cases, a physical copy exists and an exact digital PDF copy is also provided through the card system and sent to your email.

If stopped by authorities

For regulatory checks, the PT.33 prescription remains the primary document to present.

  • The PT.33 is the official DTAM prescription document format, and the issued PT.33 is the primary prescription document for regulatory checks.
  • For dispensary use, present the original physical PT.33 document.
  • For official verification when needed, the matching digital PT.33 copy can also be presented.
  • Yes. The issuing licensed doctor is legally responsible for the prescription under the applicable Thai medical framework.
  • Approving licensed DTAM medical professional information is attached to all PT.33 documents issued through this workflow.
  • The approving licensed medical professional's full name and license number are printed on every issued PT.33.
  • License credentials can be independently verified through the appropriate Thai regulatory authority.
  • WEED.TH does not pre-assign a specific doctor publicly because approvals depend on availability and case review.
  • PT.33 is the official document format provided by the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine (DTAM) via dtam.moph.go.th.

  • Do not present the cannabis card itself to authorities as a prescription document. The cannabis card is a program and discount card, not a prescription form.
  • If asked for prescription proof, log in to the card system and open the linked PT.33 document attached to your card record. Present that PT.33 record or PDF copy for verification.
  • PT.33 documents issued through this flow include a tamper-resistant verification process and always contain a QR code at the bottom-right area of the document, with the prescription ID number printed directly under the QR code.
  • The QR can be used with the verification link to confirm matching document details.

Program scale and real-world usage

This system has been used by thousands of people to maintain legal medicinal cannabis documentation in Thailand. The PT.33 document can be used across 11,000+ shops listed on WEED.TH, with added discount benefits at participating dispensaries.

Legal and procedural notice

Formal complaints have been submitted to the appropriate authorities. Case references will be published where legally permitted.

For verification, review your issued PT.33 details and matching card validity records through CARD.WEED.TH.
