Die ältere Bedienung war äußerst unfreundlich. Als ich Wasser bestellen wollte, wurde mir gesagt, sie hätten kein Wasser – was für eine Bar sehr ungewöhnlich ist. Die Art und Weise, wie dies kommuniziert wurde, war zudem wenig kundenorientiert.
Besonders unangenehm war, dass sie offensichtlich auf Trinkgeld aus war und sogar versuchte, mir das Wechselgeld direkt aus der Hand zu nehmen. Dieses Verhalten empfand ich als respektlos und aufdringlich.
Insgesamt leider keine angenehme Erfahrung. Ich kann die Bar daher nicht empfehlen.
What started as a great little indie spot on the beach road turned into a horrible, unfriendly bar whose only good point is that it's not a girly bar. But honestly, you will have far better service at any of the girly bars in Kamala than here. The old lady couldn't be less friendly. Oh, and you'd better have the exact change, otherwise your 10-20 thb change will be gone. This place sells weed but you can't smoke it there - at a place called Roots Bar no less! Basically, there is absolutely nothing roots or reggae about it, and it's way overpriced for what it is. Avoid.
Tolle Bar aber was noch toller war, nebenan ist ein dazugehörendes Tattoostudio. Ich hatte eine spontane Idee und die hat der nette Typ sofort und perfekt umgesetzt...

Horrible place with horrible service. The old lady who works there is so rude I have never experienced such behaviour from a store. I was staying at the hotel next door and thought I would pop down for a drink but all I found was a dirty store run by the worst people in Thailand. Thai people are very kind and compassionate, I hope this lady can change and become better more like how the majority of Thai people are. Go to this place if you want a bad experience, if not then go somewhere else!!!

Terrible Experience at Roots Bar<br><br>I recently had an extremely unpleasant experience at Roots Bar. The middle-aged woman working there was incredibly rude and behaved in a way that felt unhinged.<br><br>She outright told me that if I only ordered a soft drink, I would not be allowed to play pool. When I asked to pay for it regardless, she screamed at both me and my boyfriend. I have never encountered such rude behavior from anyone in Thailand before.<br><br>Thailand is known for its friendly and welcoming people, but this woman was aggressive and unprofessional. If she is the owner, she should learn how to work with integrity and communicate better. If she’s an employee, the owner should consider firing someone who behaves this way.<br><br>Her attitude not only ruined the atmosphere but also tarnished the image of Thai hospitality for international visitors. This bar is located in a tourist area, and such behavior is unacceptable. Owner is rude. Asked to play pool and she said ‘can only play one game if you do not drink alcohol’. Offered to pay separately as money is not an issue but insisted that you have to order alcohol to play. Really weird and inappropriate. Unfriendly and unwelcoming vibe. Will never visit again
