I was there 3 weeks ago. Got into town from Bangkok at 9 PM expecting to get some dinner and maybe a room and was shocked to find the gates closed and locked with no one there at all. Had to stay across the street at the Sri Chumphon, which is a dump with moldy bathrooms. Went to Koh Tao the next day using Lompraya, had to pay additional 500 baht for me and my daughter to get a ride to the Lompraya pier 30 km away. Used Fame tour when I came back to the mainland a week later on the nightboat as they provide a transfer from the port to Chumphon and then van to BKK and the driver of the transfer van was absolutely terrible. He had no information to help us out and nobody knew anything and we were all confused as to where he was taking us. I think next time I will just book a ticket with Lompraya in BKK and avoid Chumphon and Fame altogether. Too much hassle and it costs more $ in the long run. The one thing I did like was the nightboat though. I got a great nights rest on it and would do that again.
บริการดี ห้องโอเค พัดลมใช้งานได้ แต่ห้องน้ำส่วนตัวน้ำไหลอ่อนมาก
For 250 baht a night, you get exactly what you pay for in accommodation, and so much more in travel services and general local knowledge and friendliness. The rooms themselves are pretty barbones, and the windows are open to one of the busiest streets in town, which means that if you're a light sleeper you won't get much rest unless you invest in some earplugs. The bathrooms are very authentic Thai, with one bathroom including a bucket shower and squat potty and the other a wall mounted shower heater and more traditional toilet with bucket flushing. Truly, you get what you pay for, and you pay an extremely affordable and reasonable amount. I highly recommend this place for the budget-minded and adventure seekers looking to live in the heart of the city.
Very good location, inexpensive, good behaviour, caring staff.
Big room size but few furnitures.

Solitary confinement has better facilities...... Though the Geckos as maintenance staff was refreshing.
A basic double room suited me fine for a few nights. No more expensive than normal bunk room bed. Right in town and near food stalls.
Chambre correct cafe petit-djeuner bire trop chre
Simple, close to everything. They also have tickets and pick up to the islands.
Great place for the price. Not fancy, very simple but does the job for one night ! The room was clean.
Great location, close to the train station, restaurants and food markets
We came very late to Chumphon, missed night ferry to Koh Tao and didn't have place to stay. Very helpful owner offered us room with the fan for very low price. Room was a little bits scary at the first place but it's turned up to be clean (without any insects or scary creatures). This is good option to stay and catch morning ferry since it's above travel agency organising transport to Koh Tao.
Paid 250 Baht for a room with ventilator for one night. Overall it was ok, good location, nice people and everything was clean.
BUT the room had no window so I heard the traffic and everything going on in the streets like i was sleeping on the road. I could merely sleep for two hours because of trucks and motorbikes going full power all night...
La cama sper cmoda. Tuvimos habitacin con bao afuera y ventilador. El bao pequeo pero todo bien. Solo pagamos 250 thn por dos personas.
